Educating Communities about Healthcare Rights

New Mexico expanded healthcare programs for our families and children but there is little information about these programs available to the public. It is not surprising that many people do not know about their options or they run into barriers and inaccurate information during the application process. This has resulted in major disparities with enrollment. For example, over 90% of the children who are eligible for but not enrolled in Medicaid are either Hispanic or Native American. Our rural communities are also often left out of outreach and enrollment efforts by state agencies.

The Center serves as an information hub on healthcare policy and programs, developing and delivering high quality training and materials to agencies, advocates, and the general public. All of our healthcare materials are available online in our Resource Library.
